Vampiric Embrace
Priest · Shadow · Row 4 of 7 · Single rank
Changed from Classic Active ability
Vampiric Embrace sits in row 4 of the Priest Shadow tree. A talent tree is simply the grid of talents for one class role. It costs just one point. So the only question is whether opening its row fits your build.
Changed from Classic. This talent now works differently than in Classic, so read the ranks below before you spend any points.

What Vampiric Embrace does at each rank
A rank is one level of a talent. Every rank makes the effect a bit stronger. The list below uses the exact wording from the beta client, word for word.
- Rank 1: Afflicts your target with Shadow energy that causes all party members to be healed for 20% of any Shadow spell damage you deal for 30 sec. Vampiric Embrace also grants a chance for your Spirit Tap talent to trigger when enemies afflicted by it die.
How to reach Vampiric Embrace
Row 4 opens after you spend 15 points in the earlier Shadow rows. Level 25 is the earliest you can pick up Vampiric Embrace.
Is Vampiric Embrace worth the points?
One point gives you the full effect. The real cost is opening row 4. That is 15 points in the rows above, so take it when the talent or the picks it unlocks suits your build.
What it unlocks
Once Vampiric Embrace is maxed, it opens this talent deeper in the tree: Shadowform.
