Blackout Blackout

Priest · Shadow · Row 1 of 7 · 5 ranks

Blackout sits in row 1 of the Priest Shadow tree. A talent tree is simply the grid of talents for one class role. It can take up to 5 points. Max it fully, or put in a few points just to open the rows below.

What Blackout does at each rank

A rank is one level of a talent. Every rank makes the effect a bit stronger. The list below uses the exact wording from the beta client, word for word.

  1. Rank 1: Gives your Shadow damage spells a 2% chance to stun the target for 3 sec.
  2. Rank 2: Gives your Shadow damage spells a 4% chance to stun the target for 3 sec.
  3. Rank 3: Gives your Shadow damage spells a 6% chance to stun the target for 3 sec.
  4. Rank 4: Gives your Shadow damage spells a 8% chance to stun the target for 3 sec.
  5. Rank 5: Gives your Shadow damage spells a 10% chance to stun the target for 3 sec.

How to reach Blackout

Row 1 opens after you spend 0 points in the earlier Shadow rows. Level 10 is the earliest you can pick up Blackout.

Is Blackout worth the points?

Every rank makes the effect stronger, so putting in a few points while leveling is totally fine. Max it when the final rank is the heart of your endgame build, or when you need it maxed to open the talents below. And if you only need it as a stepping stone, no shame in stopping early.

What it unlocks

Once Blackout is maxed, it opens this talent deeper in the tree: Improved Psychic Scream.
