How the current rank track is described

The current site notes use a 14-rank model with milestone rewards. The table shows the milestones currently represented here; it deliberately avoids inventing details for every intermediate rank while the beta is changing.

Honor and Rank Points

How to think about the two current PvP progress types
SystemUseWhat to verify in beta
HonorSpendable PvP currency in the current site notesCurrent cap, sources, vendors and which rewards use it
Rank PointsProgress toward the rank track in the current site notesHow objectives, wins, tasks and losses affect progress

Spend currency before it reaches the live cap, but do not build a long-term plan around a beta number without checking the current client. The Updates page explains how the site's talent snapshot changes over time.

Choose a PvP talent build

Start with a build that has a clear job: finish targets, lock down movement, protect a teammate or survive pressure. These are starting points, not final tier-list rankings:

Use the compare tool to inspect two versions of a build, and read the class guide if you have not chosen a class yet.

Beginner battleground strategy

  1. Read the objective before the match starts and choose where your role helps most.
  2. Move with at least one teammate instead of taking isolated fights in the middle of the map.
  3. Use interrupts, dispels, roots, stuns and slows to protect the objective—not only to chase damage.
  4. Regroup after a loss rather than feeding the enemy team one player at a time.
  5. Spend Honor when you have a useful upgrade, then keep playing for rank progress and practice.

Rated PvP preparation

Rated play rewards coordination more than a single strong opener. Agree on target calls, defensive cooldowns, crowd-control chains and who handles objectives before the gates open. Bring a build with a defined role, and review your class changes before copying a Classic PvP setup.

WoW Forever PvP FAQs

How does PvP ranking work in WoW Forever?

The current beta notes describe a 14-rank track that progresses through PvP activity and objectives. The exact earning rules, decay behavior and rewards can change during beta, so check the in-game PvP and reputation panels.

What is the difference between Honor and Rank Points?

The current site notes treat Honor as a spendable PvP currency and Rank Points as progress toward rank. Because both systems are beta-sensitive, confirm the current cap, sources and rewards in game before planning around a number.

When can I start PvP in WoW Forever?

The current activity list places Darkspear at level 30 and Alterac Valley at level 51. Match availability and level requirements can change before launch.

Do I need a separate PvP talent build?

Usually. PvP builds value burst, crowd control, mobility, interrupts and survival differently from a questing or raid build. Start with a PvP-tagged build, then adjust it after playing a few matches.

Can I lose PvP rank if I take a break?

The current beta notes describe a non-decay progression model, but rank rules are not final. Check the in-game track after an update before assuming a break has no effect.

What is the fastest way to improve in battlegrounds?

Play the objective, stay with your team, use crowd control on key targets and avoid trickling into fights alone. A coordinated capture or defense usually matters more than chasing a distant kill.
