WoW Forever beta updates and talent snapshots
This page explains what the calculator data currently contains, how to read class-level changes and what to do when a beta update affects a build. It tracks this site's talent data, not every Blizzard announcement; use the Roadmap for schedule information.

How to read a talent update
- NEW: the current comparison data flags the talent as new.
- CHANGED: the talent has changed effect or rank text compared with the Classic comparison.
- MOVED: the talent has a different tree position or route.
- Removed: a Classic comparison talent is no longer present in the current tree data.
These labels describe the talent data loaded by this site. They do not automatically describe baseline spells, items, quests, professions or every system change.

Did a beta update break my saved build?
A share link does not freeze the old beta snapshot. It preserves the class, level and talent points, then interprets those points using the current talent data. If a talent was moved, removed or given a different prerequisite, the build may need review.
- Open the saved link and check the class, level and points.
- Look for invalid, unavailable or changed selections.
- Use the current reference page to read the new rank text and prerequisites.
- Adjust the build, then save a fresh link for your group or notes.
How this site updates
- Source data changes: the credited beta export receives a new snapshot or correction.
- Local data is regenerated: class calculators, reference pages, JSON data and comparison pages use the refreshed tree data.
- Counts are rechecked: the class changes and this summary should draw from the same local data.
- Corrections are reported: use the Contact page with the snapshot ID and evidence if a value looks wrong.
This page does not claim to preserve old snapshots or old build interpretations. Use the Sources page to verify what is currently loaded.

Current local snapshot
The calculator currently uses forever-beta-2026-09-17. The data includes the nine class trees, talent rank text, positions, prerequisites and costs represented in the local project data.
What this page does not track
This is not a Blizzard news feed, a full patch-note archive or a complete database of every game system. Roadmap dates, official announcements and launch plans belong on the Roadmap page. Talent corrections and snapshot changes belong here.

What is the current WoW Forever talent snapshot?
The current local calculator data is labeled forever-beta-2026-09-17, based on the 17 September 2026 beta data and published on 18 September 2026. Check the Sources page for provenance and scope.
Will my WoW Forever share link preserve an old beta version?
No. A share link preserves the class, level and talent points, but the points are interpreted with the current talent data. Recheck a build after a major beta update and save a fresh link when it is correct.
What do New, Changed and Moved mean?
New marks a talent flagged as new in the current comparison data. Changed marks a talent with changed effect or rank text. Moved marks a talent whose tree position changed. A talent can have more than one marker in the underlying beta data.
Where does the update data come from?
I have used talent data from talentsforever.com for the talent tree, rank text, positions, prerequisites and costs shown here. See the Sources page for the current snapshot and licensing details.
How do I report a wrong talent value?
Send the snapshot ID, class, talent name, expected value and a screenshot or clip through the Contact page. Include enough detail to reproduce the issue.
