Master of Defense Master of Defense

Warrior · Protection · Row 3 of 7 · 2 ranks
NEW in Forever Requires Shield Specialization

Master of Defense sits in row 3 of the Warrior Protection tree. A talent tree is simply the grid of talents for one class role, and you will need Shield Specialization maxed first. It can take up to 2 points. Max it fully, or put in a few points just to open the rows below.

New in Forever. This talent never existed in Classic, so don't go looking for an old version to compare. There is none.

What Master of Defense does at each rank

A rank is one level of a talent. Every rank makes the effect a bit stronger. The list below uses the exact wording from the beta client, word for word.

  1. Rank 1: Grants you a 50% chance to generate 5 Rage when you Dodge or Parry while a shield is equipped.
  2. Rank 2: Grants you a 100% chance to generate 5 Rage when you Dodge or Parry while a shield is equipped.

How to reach Master of Defense

Row 3 opens after you spend 10 points in the earlier Protection rows. Level 20 is the earliest you can pick up Master of Defense, and you will need Shield Specialization maxed first.

Is Master of Defense worth the points?

Every rank makes the effect stronger, so putting in a few points while leveling is totally fine. Max it when the final rank is the heart of your endgame build. And if you only need it as a stepping stone, no shame in stopping early.
