Shadowburn
Warlock · Destruction · Row 3 of 7 · Single rank
Changed from Classic Active ability
Shadowburn sits in row 3 of the Warlock Destruction tree. A talent tree is simply the grid of talents for one class role. It costs just one point. So the only question is whether opening its row fits your build.
Changed from Classic. This talent now works differently than in Classic, so read the ranks below before you spend any points.
105 Mana | 30 yd range | Instant | 15 sec cooldown | Reagents: Soul Shard
What Shadowburn does at each rank
A rank is one level of a talent. Every rank makes the effect a bit stronger. The list below uses the exact wording from the beta client, word for word.
- Rank 1: Instantly blasts the target for 65 to 73 Shadow damage. If a non-trivial target dies within 8 sec of being hit with Shadowburn, the caster gains a Soul Shard.
How to reach Shadowburn
Row 3 opens after you spend 10 points in the earlier Destruction rows. Level 20 is the earliest you can pick up Shadowburn.
Is Shadowburn worth the points?
One point gives you the full effect. The real cost is opening row 3. That is 10 points in the rows above, so take it when the talent suits your build.
