NEW in Forever Requires Improved Power Word: Shield
Soul Warding sits in row 4 of the Priest Discipline tree. A talent tree is simply the grid of talents for one class role, and you will need Improved Power Word: Shield maxed first. It costs just one point. So the only question is whether opening its row fits your build.
New in Forever. This talent never existed in Classic, so don't go looking for an old version to compare. There is none.
What Soul Warding does at each rank
A rank is one level of a talent. Every rank makes the effect a bit stronger. The list below uses the exact wording from the beta client, word for word.
- Rank 1: Reduces the cooldown on your Power Word: Shield spell by 4 sec and reduces its mana cost by 15%.
How to reach Soul Warding
Row 4 opens after you spend 15 points in the earlier Discipline rows. Level 25 is the earliest you can pick up Soul Warding, and you will need Improved Power Word: Shield maxed first.
Is Soul Warding worth the points?
One point gives you the full effect. The real cost is opening row 4. That is 15 points in the rows above, so take it when the talent or the picks it unlocks suits your build.
What it unlocks
Once Soul Warding is maxed, it opens this talent deeper in the tree: Renewed Hope.
