Soul Siphon sits in row 5 of the Warlock Affliction tree. A talent tree is simply the grid of talents for one class role. It can take up to 3 points. Max it fully, or put in a few points just to open the rows below.
New in Forever. This talent never existed in Classic, so don't go looking for an old version to compare. There is none.
What Soul Siphon does at each rank
A rank is one level of a talent. Every rank makes the effect a bit stronger. The list below uses the exact wording from the beta client, word for word.
- Rank 1: Increases the damage done or health drained by your Drain Life, Drain Soul, and Wrack spells by 4% per each of your other Affliction effects active on the target, up to a maximum increase of 12%.
- Rank 2: Increases the damage done or health drained by your Drain Life, Drain Soul, and Wrack spells by 8% per each of your other Affliction effects active on the target, up to a maximum increase of 24%.
- Rank 3: Increases the damage done or health drained by your Drain Life, Drain Soul, and Wrack spells by 12% per each of your other Affliction effects active on the target, up to a maximum increase of 36%.
How to reach Soul Siphon
Row 5 opens after you spend 20 points in the earlier Affliction rows. Level 30 is the earliest you can pick up Soul Siphon.
Is Soul Siphon worth the points?
Every rank makes the effect stronger, so putting in a few points while leveling is totally fine. Max it when the final rank is the heart of your endgame build. And if you only need it as a stepping stone, no shame in stopping early.
