Illumination Illumination

Paladin · Holy · Row 4 of 7 · 5 ranks
Changed from Classic Requires Reverence

Illumination sits in row 4 of the Paladin Holy tree. A talent tree is simply the grid of talents for one class role, and you will need Reverence maxed first. It can take up to 5 points. Max it fully, or put in a few points just to open the rows below.

Changed from Classic. This talent now works differently than in Classic, so read the ranks below before you spend any points.

What Illumination does at each rank

A rank is one level of a talent. Every rank makes the effect a bit stronger. The list below uses the exact wording from the beta client, word for word.

  1. Rank 1: After getting a critical effect from your Flash of Light, Holy Light, Light's Vigil, or Holy Shock heal spell you have a 20% chance to gain Mana equal to 50% of the base cost of the spell.
  2. Rank 2: After getting a critical effect from your Flash of Light, Holy Light, Light's Vigil, or Holy Shock heal spell you have a 40% chance to gain Mana equal to 50% of the base cost of the spell.
  3. Rank 3: After getting a critical effect from your Flash of Light, Holy Light, Light's Vigil, or Holy Shock heal spell you have a 60% chance to gain Mana equal to 50% of the base cost of the spell.
  4. Rank 4: After getting a critical effect from your Flash of Light, Holy Light, Light's Vigil, or Holy Shock heal spell you have a 80% chance to gain Mana equal to 50% of the base cost of the spell.
  5. Rank 5: After getting a critical effect from your Flash of Light, Holy Light, Light's Vigil, or Holy Shock heal spell you have a 100% chance to gain Mana equal to 50% of the base cost of the spell.

How to reach Illumination

Row 4 opens after you spend 15 points in the earlier Holy rows. Level 25 is the earliest you can pick up Illumination, and you will need Reverence maxed first.

Is Illumination worth the points?

Every rank makes the effect stronger, so putting in a few points while leveling is totally fine. Max it when the final rank is the heart of your endgame build. And if you only need it as a stepping stone, no shame in stopping early.
