Fingers of Frost Fingers of Frost

Mage · Frost · Row 5 of 7 · 2 ranks
NEW in Forever Requires Ice Lance

Fingers of Frost sits in row 5 of the Mage Frost tree. A talent tree is simply the grid of talents for one class role, and you will need Ice Lance maxed first. It can take up to 2 points. Max it fully, or put in a few points just to open the rows below.

New in Forever. This talent never existed in Classic, so don't go looking for an old version to compare. There is none.

What Fingers of Frost does at each rank

A rank is one level of a talent. Every rank makes the effect a bit stronger. The list below uses the exact wording from the beta client, word for word.

  1. Rank 1: Gives your Chill effects a 15% chance to grant you the Fingers of Frost effect, which treats your next 1 spell cast as if the target were Frozen. Lasts 15 sec.
  2. Rank 2: Gives your Chill effects a 15% chance to grant you the Fingers of Frost effect, which treats your next 2 spells cast as if the target were Frozen. Lasts 15 sec.

How to reach Fingers of Frost

Row 5 opens after you spend 20 points in the earlier Frost rows. Level 30 is the earliest you can pick up Fingers of Frost, and you will need Ice Lance maxed first.

Is Fingers of Frost worth the points?

Every rank makes the effect stronger, so putting in a few points while leveling is totally fine. Max it when the final rank is the heart of your endgame build. And if you only need it as a stepping stone, no shame in stopping early.
