Combustion
Mage · Fire · Row 7 of 7 · Single rank
Changed from Classic Active ability Requires Critical Mass
Combustion sits in row 7 of the Mage Fire tree. A talent tree is simply the grid of talents for one class role, and you will need Critical Mass maxed first. It costs just one point. So the only question is whether opening its row fits your build.
Changed from Classic. This talent now works differently than in Classic, so read the ranks below before you spend any points.

What Combustion does at each rank
A rank is one level of a talent. Every rank makes the effect a bit stronger. The list below uses the exact wording from the beta client, word for word.
- Rank 1: When activated, this spell causes each of your Fire damage spell hits to increase your critical strike chance with Fire damage spells by 10%. This effect lasts until you have caused 4 non-periodic critical strikes with Fire spells.
How to reach Combustion
Row 7 opens after you spend 30 points in the earlier Fire rows. Level 40 is the earliest you can pick up Combustion, and you will need Critical Mass maxed first.
Is Combustion worth the points?
One point gives you the full effect. The real cost is opening row 7. That is 30 points in the rows above, so take it when the talent suits your build.
